Description
One of the KL Landmarks Attractions is the River of Life. It is known as one of the world's top 10 best waterfronts River of Live Malaysia.
The river which surrounds Jamek Mosque (Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad), is the oldest mosque in KL, It is located at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak River, it was built in 1909.
The River of Life project that was launched by the former government in 2012. The aims of the projects is to clean the rivers “within the Greater KL / Klang Valley region”.
Focusing on : River Cleaning, River Beautification, Commercialisation & tourism.
Projects still developing and the idea behind the project is to clean the Klang river and remove all water pollution. It's been going on for a number of years and it is still an ongoing never ending project.
Project described as most expensive urban river restoration projects ever undertaken. There are riverside cafes, bicycle lane and nighttime light shows water music dancing which will turn the water in blue with dramatic foggy around.
The portion that I visited is a short walk surrounding Jamek Mosque (Masjid Jamek Sultan Abdul Samad) in the center part of KL.
