It's National Park Week. Yeah, we had this planned for months! Okay, so it's more of a coincidence—but a good one, because some of our most special travel memories were born in the National Parks ... including the "final countdown." (You'll have to watch the episode to figure that one out!)
Perhaps National Park Week doesn't have the same notoriety as Shark Week, but it should! So far we've been to 27 of the 63 National Parks, and we plan to visit 10 more this year. Eight of those will be first-time visits for us. While we were preparing for this video, we decided to visit all 63. After all, Trish has the official National Park passport now! In this episode, we share our Top 10 National Parks by order of establishment, because they're all so incredible it's impossible to pick a favorite. Did you know that President Lincoln signed the Yosemite Land Grant on June 30, 1864, protecting the Yosemite Valley so future generations could enjoy its natural beauty? That's just one of 10 fun facts you'll learn in this episode. :) We also share some of the key attractions, hot spots, campgrounds, hikes, and scenic drives. This video might be our longest ever, but we cover a lot of ground (literally) and overlay our own footage from past visits.
