10 BANNED Roller Coasters You Can’t Ride Anymore!

Spring season finally warms up and then comes summer! Students and people
will be on their breaks and you know what it means? It is time to break out the
swimsuits, apply sunscreen and shell out huge amounts of money for amazing
and thrilling amusement parks. However, these amusement parks are not for
everyone, one should have a queasy stomach. Today we are going to show you
some bone shivering roller coasters that you can’t ride anymore. Before that
don’t forget to subscribe to our channel for amazing videos in the future.

10 -Mantis

Let’s start with one of the most famous theme parks in the USA, “Cedar Point”.
Though it’s not a very large park, it is known for its stunning location right on
Lake Erie and because it is one of the oldest operating amusement parks in
America. For quite some years one of the thrilling ride in the park was a stand-
up roller coaster named Mantis, it was famous for its multiple upside downs
which were added in 1996. At that time it was the steepest, tallest and fastest
ride available in the United States! But some records are not meant to be
broken, as the ride was closed after 20 years running claiming many reasons,
but one of the main reasons was complaints of back pain and aches caused by
this ride. Just to avoid lawsuits, they entirely redid the roller coaster so, for
now, it’s a dangling coaster. For sure, it’s nowhere close to the thrill it used to
be, but for some, the memory of it lives on!

9 –Thunderbolt

This ride was truly an amazing roller coaster! Located in the Dream World
Amusement Park of Queensland, Australia. This ride used to be an amazing

attraction in the park. This park has been open for over 35 years, very huge
and divided into various themes that include, Dreams of Work Experience,
wiggle world, ocean parade and more. Thunderbolt was the oldest and thrilling
roller coaster in the park, and other ride seemed to bother all too much- after
all, it was one of the first roller coasters in all of Australia that featured vertical
loops! As the ride was very popular, despite being a bit rickety and old, owners
spent over a million dollars to make it more comfortable with the addition of
the latest coasters. Anyhow, it failed to work and the maintenance issues were
still raising concerns. Finally, the ride was closed and scraped to make space
for more thrilling and amazing rides to attract people without raising concerns
about safety.

8 –Rollo Coaster

Once more, not the most authentic name for a roller coaster, is it? Well, just
about as much thought went into naming this ride as did planning it. This ride
is located in Ligonier, Pennsylvania’s Idlewild Amusement Park, because of
being very old it was falling into a state of disrepair. Moreover, anyone who is
a frequent visitor to theme parks can explain to you what happens when a ride
gets old. It keeps running, taking frequent breaks to fix small problems until
something horrible happens to shut down the ride completely. It was the case
with this ride, a family-friendly roller coaster for the visitors of all ages. A 3year
old was taking this roller coaster with his mother when he was critically injured
halfway through. He was coppered out in an emergency to get to the hospital
of Pittsburg as soon as possible. The roller coaster was closed and never
reopened after this tragic incident.

7 –Jet Star

As known, Hurricane Sandy was a threat that anyone can recognize from miles
away. The deadliest storm was the most intense of all in 2012, and also one of
the most costly hurricanes in the history of the USA. It just destroyed the
Atlantic coast wreaking havoc all throughout. By the time it approached New
Jersey, it claimed even more nostalgia than we were prepared for. The storm

destroyed The Casino Pier, which was a house to the most iconic Jersey ride
“The Jet Star”, this roller coaster had been around for years and been one of
the thrilling attractions of Jersey’s shores. Call it a miracle or whatever, when
the storm passed the Jet Start had remained somewhat intact when all of the
Casino Pier was underwater. Special services were hired to remove the ride,
which was unluckily completely unsalvageable after the storm.
