These are the Bollywood actors and actress Who Adopted Villages :-

1. Shahrukh Khan :- King Khan of Bollywood, SRK has done many charitable works. He has also adopted many villages. In 2009 he funded a solar power project which brought electricity to nine villages of Odisha. He also adopted 12 villages in Bhitarkanika National Park. He is the only Indian who won the UNESCO Pyramide Con Marni Award.

2. Salman Khan :- Salman Khan is one of the most generous and humble Bollywood actors and he does many charitable works. Through his NGO Being Human, he adopted 200 villages in Aurangabad district.

3. Priyanka Chopra :- The Global icon was the brand ambassador of NDTV's Greenathon Programme and to support the cause she adopted two villages. She is currently the brand ambassador of UNICEF.

4. Aamir Khan :- Mr.Perfectionist of bollywood adopted a village in Bhuj which was destroyed by an earthquake in 2001. He also adopted 5 villages in support of NDTV's Greenathon Programme and his ancestral village Akhtiarpur in UP.

5. Deepika Padukone :- The leading lady of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone adopted Ambegaon Village in support of Greenathon Programme. She has taken the responsibility of providing electricity in that village.

6. Kareena Kapoor :- In support of NDTV's Greenathon Programme, Bebo adopted a village in Madhya Pradesh named Chanderi. She spent 3 lakhs to bring power to the village and later when Kareena visited the village, she had dinner with a family there.

7. Shahid Kapoor :- Shahid Kapoor was also a part of NDTV's Greenathon programme to provide electricity supplies in rural areas. He adopted 3 villages in support of the Greenathon programme.

8. Vivek Oberoi :- Being a philanthropist Vivek Oberoi adopted Devanapatnam, a village in Tamil Nadu in 2005 which was destroyed by Tsunami. In 2015 he adopted Muthuvakuntla village in Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh and promised to transform the underprivileged village.

9. Nana Patekar :- Nana Patekar is one of the most humble actors and he leads a very simple life. He adopted 4 villages in Maharashtra. In one of the villages he distributed cheques of 15k among the villagers. He also raised 35 lakhs to develop a village in Aurangabad. His mission is to provide employment and other facilities in the villages.

10. Rahul Bose :- Under NDTV's Greenathon programme the actor adopted Chikaldara, a hill station in Maharashtra. He also distributed solar lanterns to the villagers during his visit of the village.

11. Hema Malini :- Actress and MP Hema Malini adopted a village in UP named Raval to support the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojna . The actress promised the villagers that she would develop and promote women empowerment.
