10 Disney Stars Who Destroyed Their Careers In Seconds

It seems like people who start their careers young go on to become big stars such as Justin Timberlake or Ariana Grande. HOWEVER, this is not always the case.

Number 10: Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato got her claim to fame alongside the Jonas Brothers in Camp Rock. She was also seen on her own Disney Channel series and of course, her illustrious pop singing career. On the outside, it seems that Demi has a great, successful life. However, Lovato has opened up regarding her struggles with drug abuse since her teen years. Her timeline experience with drugs have been compiled into her own documentary, Simply Complicated, where she opens up about her issues with bulimia and drug dependency. Lucky for Demi, she became sober for the next six years but fell back to relapse in July 2018. She was rushed to hospital after reportedly suffering a heroin overdose but is now believed to be in a stable and improving condition.

Number 9: Lalaine Vergara-Paras

You may remember Lalaine Vergara-Paras from her role as the plucky teenage “Miranda” on Disney Channel’s show “Lizzie Mcguire.” She played an important role as one of the main character’s best friends which is why when a Lizzie Mcguire movie was released back in 2003, there were lots of questions on the “no-show” of Miranda on the show as she was such a vital character. The show did not reveal much of what was going on until they released that Lalaine was no longer a part of the cast due to her pursuance of her music career. Of course, this was FAR from the truth as in reality, Lalaine had fallen to the trap of drugs and abuse. She did end up signing a record deal but the lows outweighed the highs at this point in her life. She ended up getting arrested and pleading to charges of drug possession. Luckily, after time in rehab, Lalaine has been improving everyday as she now works to pay her bills and stays motivated.

Number 8: Brian Bonsall

For all the 90s babies, the Disney movie “Blank Check” should ring a bell. The story follows the a kid named “Preston Waters” who is played by actor “Brian Bonsall.” Brian apparently came into a large amount of money which led him into trouble. It turns out that in real life, Brian didn’t need a blank check to get him into trouble. Things went downhill for Brian when he tried switching from acting to music. He was soon arrested for the first time in 2007 for assaulting his girlfriend and additional charges accumulated after he failed to appear in court at the scheduled time. Brian ended going on probation, but as soon as his probation period was over, he had another run with the cops after striking his friend in the face with a broken bottle. Talk about bad timing!

It was bad enough that Brian was on high alert from authorities but it did not stop there. Later on, a criminal named Nathan Loebe was arrested for guess what? He had been IMPERSONATING Brian Bonsall in order to lure victims on online dating sites, further tarnishing the name “Brian Bonsall.” Nathan Loebe even went as far as getting the same exact tattoos as Brian to fully execute his plan.

Number 7: Shia LaBeouf

Shia LaBeouf was once the world’s favorite, annoying little brother on the Disney Channel series “Even Stevens” but the older he got, the more versatile he became. Countless bad decisions by the actor such as being arrested multiple times, being caught using racial slurs live, turning up to Cannes wearing a PAPER bag on his head, and being accused of plagiarism have all led to his seeming downfall.

As of today though, he seems to have his life back on track, earning praise for his role in American Honey. Shia also is working on a biopic of his life where he’ll be playing his own father and Lucas Hedges will play him. With numerous movies for him coming out in 2019, I guess it is safe to say that Shia has got his life back together.

Number 6: Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan rose to fame from Disney’s “The Parent Trap” and “Freaky Friday” before succumbing to the dark forces of Hollywood. The actress has been to rehab multiple times and has had numerous arrests to her name for driving under the influence, cocaine possession and probation violation. Lohan then moved to London after completing her community service but now resides in Dubai. Lindsay seemed to have get things back on track as she recently starred in the Sky One series Sick Note and have many more projects on the way.
