Number 1.) it has been estimated that more than $600 billion worth of treasure is hidden around the world under the seas and oceans. As we already know, only 5 percent of the oceans have been discovered so even that estimate could be a fraction of what we think the treasure is worth. More of the treasure went underwater in the 17th and later centuries, when the glorious revolution began and then the colonization. If you think pirates are fake, think again. Pirates have very real and some of them, like Blackbeard, ruled waters for a long time. Pirates exist even today, in Somalia. the ships weren’t as rigid as of today’s so ships used to sink quite often. And with that, the gold and treasure on the ships used to sink too. Many fishermen in this age have found the lost treasure around the world and have become very rich. Let us tell you about 10 fishermen who accidentally got rich. This will make you buy a boat and set sail. But before we get into that, don’t forget to subscribe.
Number 10.) magnet fishing has been around for a while but it has gotten a lot of attention in recent years. If you don’t know about it, magnet fishing is not really used to catch fish. A really strong magnet is thrown in the water and it attracts metal things when inside the water. It is a very efficient way of finding items that are worth a lot and made of metal. People have found old guns, knives, jewelry, tools, rifles, even fallen aircraft from world wars. If you are lucky, you would find coins too which are worth a lot. A 22-year-old boy used the same technique to find a really good treasure. Adam hastings used magnet fishing for the first time after seeing it on a tv program. he hit a jackpot when he found an old metal safe. When he opened it, it was filled with expensive watches, jewelry and stuff like that. it seemed that robbers had robbed someplace and then thrown the safe in the water for some reason. Maybe so they could retrieve it again or did they throw it in the fear of getting caught? But lucky adam, he really found the treasure. But wait, this has a plot twist. It seemed like adam wasn’t that lucky after all because he didn’t get to keep the treasure. He got paid a substantial amount thought, so we can't say there was no justice done.
Number 9.) three yamani fishermen hit the jackpot when they found around 80 kgs of whale vomit in the ocean when they were out fishing. The vomit was worth around $2.5 million. You must be wondering how can a whale vomit be so expensive. Well, whale vomit is not easily found because some very basic factors like whales only exist in oceans and they don’t make wax all the time. Why would anyone want whale vomit? Well, the answer to that is perfumed. The whale vomit is a very rare wax and it costs a lot. It has a really bad smell but once it is taken out of the water and dried, it gives off a really pleasant smell. And the fact that it is not easily found, perfume companies around the world look for the wax and are ready to pay any price for it. The whale vomit is also known as ambergris. The fishermen, when they found it, didn’t know what it was. They took it with themselves and then got to found out that they had hit a jackpot. the fishermen were really poor, so they split the money between each other and then started a construction company, so they could change their lives.
Number 8.) according to the data, it is recorded that around 3 million ships have sunk in various waters of the world. Traders and merchants have existed throughout history and the early merchants used to travel on ships. They used to carry a lot of gold, and with those ships, the gold used to sink too. Many Spanish ships were sunk by the British in the 16th century. Some of the ships discovered, had around 17 billion dollars worth of gold. Many ships in the world wars were sunk too, many carrying treasures, and the same goes for USSR. A dutch fisherman got really lucky when he found gold underwater in a sunk ship. The gold was in the form of gold bars, which used to exist before. The gold was around 12.5 kilograms heavy and estimated to be worth 1 million dollars. That made the guy rich overnight. Yes, if you are wondering, the guy is not a fisherman anymore.
Number 7.) in 1969, a man walked on the moon for the first time. It was an unbelievable moment in history. the missions are engraved in the history of mankind, but only a few people cared about the rocket. the parts of the Saturn V rocket blasted the module into space and were ejected, falling into the ocean. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos paid to salvage the two rockets from the ocean floor in 2013. They’re obviously not in the best condition after being fired, falling and spending several decades underwater.
