10 Hidden Secrets in Famous Brand Logos

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another video from Mind Read here on this awesome platform, YouTube. Today we're going to be delving into 10 hidden secrets in famous brand logos. Conspiracy maybe? We love those, right. Actually, the definition of conspiracy is: an explanation of an event or of a situation that brings about a conspiracy by sinister and powerful actors who are often political in motivation, when other explanations are more probable. This term has a bit of an accusatory connotation, implying that the appeal to a conspiracy is based on prejudice or insufficient evidence. But, conspiracy theories resist falsification and are reinforced by what's known as "circular reasoning" whereby both evidence against the conspiracy and an absence of evidence for it are re-interpreted as evidence of its truth, and whereby the conspiracy becomes a matter of faith or belief system rather than something that can be proved or disproved. Are you confused yet? Haha, good! That means we can get started in our top 10.

Number 10: At our tenth spot we can tell you that this famous brand logo is known as Timberland, a brand of shoe that many celebrities and rich folks love and it's a really stylish brand that's definitely become world famous. Their logo seems a tad boring though, I mean it's just a simple depiction of a tree, right? Nuh-uh, actually. In fact, this tree is not just any old tree though. And if you look closely, you'll understand that this tree is what's known as a hanging tree. This is a tree where black African Americans were hung on, opening up a real can of worms historically speaking, with a vey dark and horrible past from not all that long ago in US history. We're not 100 percent sure as to why a company would want such a horrific logo on their shoes, and some say it's only a conspiracy, but this takes our number 10 spot for hidden secrets in famous brand logos, so we'll let you, our viewers decide if that's true or not.

Number 9: At spot number 9 in the countdown, we have this footage of this famous brand logo from Starbucks. Apparently, a new Starbucks store opens somewhere in the world every 11 hours, so these guys are pretty successful and well known for exuberant prices and great coffee too. This famous place for coffee features a mermaid, instantly recognizable by most people in the world, yes? I guess it depends on what part of the world you hail from. Anyway, this logo is actually a siren, and the original logo is still featured in the first-ever Starbucks locality in Washington, DC. Sirens are well known in folklore as luring sailors and then capsizing their ships, taking their lives. And it does seem that the more family friendly mermaid is now being used so Starbucks can be seen as a more friendly company, unwilling to discourage sailors who might be lured in for coffee without knowing their true fate. It would make for a great advertisement for coffee though. "Can you survive your coffee here at Starbucks? Men be warned, though, the siren may prey on you. And if you survive, the coffee is on the house. Please sign a waiver before participating." Might be fun, right? We think so!

Number 8: At the eighth spot in our countdown, we can tell you that this famous brand logo is for world renowned MGM or Metro Goldwyn Mayer. This logo is an advertising logo synonymous with movies under the brand and it features a lion as its central theme. They didn't use CGI to film that big lion either, in fact, they actually filmed it for real. And the lion they used was said to be unusual, and named Jackie. And (apparently) this lion is haunted or cursed, so they say.

First up, when Jackie was being transported, the train he was on crashed, and although many of the passengers were severely hurt, the lion was completely unharmed. In another instance, Jackie was being moved by airplane and it also crashed, but Jackie was unhurt whilst others on board were hurt. Can you see a pattern yet? Another occurrence was that in one of the areas where Jackie was being kept an explosion happened, and again, quite miraculously, Jackie was unhurt while the humans around him were injured. In another scenario, Jackie the lion was transported on a boat and it crashed, but of course Jackie was totally fine. I think he's actually a really lucky lion. If you thought that wasn't enough, Jackie also survived an earthquake and another train crash, and was completely unharmed in every single occurrence. Is Jackie lucky or haunted? MGM certainly have been lucky to have him as their logo, and their movies have been box office smashes, pardon the pun on the word there.
