For many, the purchase of simple houses is enough. But for most of the world's wealthiest personalities, purchase of mouth-watering and incredible homes is a common practice.
Most of such incredible houses redefine the meaning of luxury and residential comfort. With facilities and designs that are almost out of the world, this category of houses are truly masterpieces in their own right.
From French Chateaus to Indian mega towers amongst others, join us as we countdown the top 10 incredible houses in the world that are cynosures of all eyes.
#10: The Manor or Spelling Manor (Los Angeles, California)
This expansive residential property holds the dual-title of the largest and most expensive house in Los Angeles, California. teIt originally belonged to Bing Crosby but was razed down and reconstructed when it came into the possession of famed producer, Aaron Spelling, who set on the mission to build and live in the most ostentatious house ever seen in Los Angeles.
The French chateau-style mansion has a screening room, gym, bowling alley, presents-wrapping rooms, plenty of two-car garages, numerous pools, a 100-capacity car parking lot, amongst others.
The two-story property houses 123 rooms, has a basement, and an intermediate floor containing closets. Put in context, the piece of real estate is much bigger than any football field you might have ever set your eyes upon.
After Spelling's death, the property was sold to young socialite Petra Ecclestone. In 2019, Petra sold off the property to an anonymous buyer at an incredible price of 119.7 million - the highest sale in Californian history!

#9: FairField Pond (New York, US)
This Hamptons estate comprises four separate residential structures, all standing on 110,000 square feet expanse of land situated in New York. The main building alone has 29 bedrooms, 39 bathrooms, a basketball court, a 164-seat movie theatre and bowling alley, a private power plant, a synagogue, and two courtyards. In addition to 3 swimming pools and miles of private shoreline, there's a hot tub valued at $150,000.
The property taxes alone stands at $650,000 every year, which is more than enough to buy an incredible house somewhere else in premium locations across the world such as Dubai. The house is owned by billionaire Ira Rennert who bought it for $100 million. On assuming possession, he went on to reconstruct the property to his taste after wading through a nasty neighbors’ complaints the city council on claims that such construction would negatively impact the neighborhood.
Despite the magnificence of the $250 million-worth landed property, Ira bennet is reported to have once applied for a permit to expand the property’s size to accommodate more outdoor facilities such as extra bathrooms, a sauna, and a pilates studio.

#8: Updown Court (Windlesham, UK)
Updown Court is an incredible California-styled mansion located in Windlesham, England. It boasts of several amazing features that are scarce in many privately-owned residential properties across the world.
It has an astonishing number of 103 rooms, 24 bedrooms, 5 swimming pools - including an infinity pool, a wine cellar with 3000 bottle storage capacity, a panic room, fully-automated two-lane bowling alley, a squash court, a floodlit tennis court, a cinema, an underground garage, its sauna, beauty salon and dressing room, as well a helipad.
Equally as impressive, the dwelling is spread over 58 acres of landscaped gardens and 50,000 square feet of space, making it far larger in size than Buckingham Palace. The roads at Updown Courts speak grandeur. For example, a 3-million-dollar heated marble driveway ushers visitors into the property.
The house was constructed in 1924 for British General, Sir Philips Ward, and his family of five. He retained its possession till 1977 when Saudi Prince, Sammy Gayed bought the property for an undisclosed amount.
After a decade of disuse since a huge fire incidence that almost razed the Court down, a construction company set upon rebuilding it and the property has changed hands since then.

#7: Bran Castle (Bran, Romania)
The castle is located in the town of Bran, deep in the Transylvanian region of Romania. However, the name is a bit of a misnomer. Vlad the Impaler, a 15th-century prince known for his proclivity for torture and cruelty, was the inspiration for Bran Stoker's 1897 Dracula. Vlad spent time in the region around Bran castle, and the current owners decided to capitalize on that tourism advantage. The castle was first constructed in 1212 and was home to several dynasties that include Mongols, Ottomans, and Magyars.
