Okay so you’re going on vacation, huh? Thinking of becoming a tourist. Nice slow walks along the beaches, or drinks and dinner with friends perhaps. Maybe you could go on that scenic tour or perhaps you might like to have an aquatic adventure or join the tour bus for the day…

Well, in this footage, we’re gonna show you the most scariest places tourists went to, and why you’re gonna think twice about venturing out on your vacation, unless you want to be scared silly. So let’s get into our top 10 countdown! Prepare to be scared… Aha!

Number 10: In our number 10 spot we have this harrowing tourist place. And it’s super scary. You already would have heard of this one, and it’s the world renowned Mount Everest.

Mount Everest is located in Tibet and the reason it makes our top 10 is because of the drastic weather changes which occur, and may times without warning and can cause landslides and high altitude reactions to the body. These changes within the body can affect the body’s natural state of homeostasis and can cause people to get very unwell very quickly. Acute mountain sickness can occur at just 8000 feet up and can cause extreme fatigue, headaches and dizziness. These symptoms increase the further you go in altitude and a climber experiencing an altitude over 12000 feet will also get less oxygen, therefore causing shortness of breath, coughing up blood-stained mucosa and perhaps even a loss of consciousness altogether! Did you cancel your plans yet?

Oh yeah, you can also lose your footing and fall and die too. Yeah, we’re not really keen on this one, folks, so we’re gonna leave it to the experts!

Number 9: The number 9 spot in our countdown belongs to Grand Canyon National Park. And this is located in northwestern Arizona in the US.

Each and every year, tourists visit Grand Canyon National Park and many rescues take place because of its terrain. In fact, many tourists don’t expect that they will have much difficulty with their visit. Oops!

Because of the natural slopes and sharp inclines, many of the trails have no railings or proper paths, and tourists can become stranded in many places without realising how dangerous and high-up-kinda-scary it really can be. The other dangers which make it scary are the lack of resources available like shade, water, a store for food.., or your comforting mother if you should get stuck on an uninviting cliff top. Yowsers! Bright Angel Trail is the most high altitude and affects multiple tourists each year because of its changeability. The weather can range from severe heat to cold in a matter of minutes and storms are prevalent too. Apparently, there is a high likelihood of getting hit by lightning out here as well! Yeah-no!

Have any of our viewers been in this terrain before? It looks like a really scary and isolated place to get lost or stuck in! Apparently vertigo, loss of balance and fall overs can occur here too, mostly from strong winds and also because of the high altitude which can play on the body’s natural sense of balance. Temperatures range and can go up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit leading to heat stroke, dehydration and other issues related to being too hot, including passing out or even death. Many visitors are hurt or maimed by the wildlife each year too, and some people have drowned in the Colorado river while others have experienced severe hypothermia because the river is so cold even in high temperatures. Um, we’re giving this one a big no thank you!

Number 8: At spot number 8 we have this scary tourist destination. Dan-dan, dan-dan, you know that music you hear from the Jaws theme? Well, I don’t really know how to do it proper justice but you get the picture, right?

Okay, so we’re here at this Floridian beach called New Smyrna Beach. There have been more than 250 shark attacks at this beach alone, and it’s synonymous with danger with a capital D.

In fact, the signs on the beach warn swimmers but they still venture in anyway? But why? Is it some weird right of passage where people enjoy dicing with their lives, taking their chances… we don’t wanna do that, or how would we make these videos?

Anyway, this beach is a super popular surfing spot which also happens to include an inlet where sharks come to hunt and feed regularly. But the surfers still keep surfing and the swimmers still keep on swimming!

As far as statistics go, Florida is the most likely place to get bitten by a shark. So maybe you might like to stay on the beach and build sandcastles, that could be fun, right?

Number 7: In the seventh spot we have this footage of Boiling Lake in Dominica. It already sounds scary to us, and that’s because it really is!
