10 Mysterious Events Happened On Earth

Today, we are rounding out the top 10 for mysterious events that occurred on earth. Don't forget to stay here for our number one pick, and also stay tuned for our best pick which will be in the number two spot for our viewers. If you'd like to like, comment, subscribe or share, we’d love you to do so. So, without any further ado, let's get started and see the top 10 mysterious events that occurred on earth.

Number 10: Our number 10 spot goes to the very unbelievable events that occurred when Halley's Comet was seen over the earth. This spectacle was seen by millions of viewers t the time and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for those who didn't see it.

During its 1986 apparition, Halley's Comet became the first comet to be observed in detail by many spacecraft, providing the first observational data on the structure of its nucleus and the mechanism of coma and tail formation. These observations supported a number of important hypotheses about comet construction, particularly Fred Whipple's "dirty snowball" model, which rightly predicted that Halley would be composed of a mixture of volatile ices like water, carbon dioxide, ammonia, and dust. The missions also provided data that was welcomed and reformed and reconfigured all these initial ideas. And now it’s also understood that the surface of Halley’s Comet is largely composed of dusty, non-volatile materials, and that only a small portion of it is really icy.

Number 9: Here, we come to our number 9 spot which goes to this mysterious event that occurred and has been recorded in Russia. And this phenomenon is a natural event and has been named rainbow snow.

Usually, snow falls for a period of up to 12 hours or less, and is white and occurs during the winter months of a season in many countries on earth. But… the occurrence of rainbow snow is a mysterious phenomenon in the country of Russia, and it began getting some weird kinds of colours of snow, and this snow was orange in colour at its first instance. Scientists found that it had sand and clay within its makeup and its texture was far more sleek too. Russia got more orange snow over the years and even blue and green-coloured snow as well. There have even been yellow and purple falls documented too.

Scientists believe there are different causes for each of the separate colours and believe pollution and other factors are involved, but it’s still a mysterious occurrence.

Number 8: The number 8 spot for the countdown goes to this mysterious event that occurred on earth a really long time ago at its first inception. Blood rain was first recorded in 700 b.c.e by Homer and has occurred at least 500 times thereafter. Which is quite an amazing phenomenon we think!

Reports of blood rain have been recorded for centuries, well back before humans knew any better, and it was believed the sky was actually spitting out blood. Nowadays, we have the excellent technology to analyse the composition of blood rain so we no longer have to jump to any crazy or apocalyptic conclusions, but scientists are only just now figuring out how and why it occurs. In fact, a new study has put forward an explanation for a recent incident in Zamora, a city in northwestern Spain.

The people of Zamora and several nearby villages noticed blood rain falling from the sky more recently, and wondered if it was chemical pollution. Was it some kind of deliberate sabotage? Was it a sign from God? A concerned resident sent a sample of rainwater to scientists at Spain's University of Salamanca to see if they could come up with any answers. And now the results are amazing.

The researchers say a freshwater green microalgae called Haematococcus pluvialis is to blame and that this microalgae is capable of producing a red carotene pigment called astaxanthin when in a state of stress, perhaps caused by getting caught up in a raincloud. That finding also matches up with previous studies of blood rain in a worldwide capacity.

Number 7: At the seventh spot for our countdown we have this mysterious event. On August 4th, 1621 (in Scotland) they had an event called Black Saturday.

Black Saturday was a particularly dark, stormy Saturday in Scotland. Many regarded the foul weather as a judgment of Heaven against Acts then passed in the Scots Parliament tending to establish Episcopacy.

Many suicides were recorded on this day, and some saw the foul weather as a preparatory omen for the much believed in Armageddon.

For nearly 35 hours, the people woke up to and experienced the strangest phenomenon on record for weather in that area of the world. The day was as black as night and deemed an eerie sight with some wondering if it might not pass and leave them at that time in history. There were no stars, no clouds, and no moon in the sky, only darkness! What a weird and mysterious event for the Scottish people. Wow, huh!
