10 People who Fell into Animal Enclosures at Zoos
In zoos, animals are put behind enclosures for a reason, because you aren’t allowed to physically
interact with them. Yet people still find themselves inside these enclosures, whether accidentally or on
purpose, sometimes with grim endings. It could and up bad for the animal as well, if you remember the
case of Harambe the gorilla, which we will not discuss in this video.
I find it hard to believe that someone would intentionally risk his or her life just to get close with these
animals. Some have no apparent reason atv all, just like the guy in number one so stay tuned for that.
Here are 10 people who fell into animal enclosures at zoos.
Number 10. Mauled by a Tiger and Probably Fired for It
https://nypost.com/2017/11/15/zookeeper-mauled-by-siberian-tiger-describes-hellish-attack/
Talk about a bad day. A zookeeper from the Kaliningrad Zoo was mauled by a Siberian Tiger in its
enclosure, and she will probably get fired for it.
Zookeeper Nadezhda Srivastava had worked for the zoo for many years and have taken care of a lot of
fierce animals, including bears and the aforementioned siberian tiger. On the day she was mauled, her
duty was to clean the tiger enclosure and bring in the tiger’s food.
Obviously, the tiger needs to be locked up inside a separate enclosure within the main enclosure itself in
order for her to do the job safely. Unfortunately, she neglected to lock the gate of the inner enclosure,
allowing the hungry animal to pounce on her.
Never losing her presence of mind, she sacrificed her arms, which she shoved into the tiger’s mouth,
preventing it from going for her neck. Her entire ordeal lasted ten minutes and it would have ended
worst for if it hadn’t been for zoo visitors who distracted the tiger by throwing things into the enclosure,
including a table. Nadezhda was able to escape when the tiger let go of her, distracted by the zoo
visitors.
Zoo administrators put all the blame of her, accusing her of neglecting to lock the gate of the inner
enclosure, which directly led to the mauling.
Number 9. Drunk Man Vs. Bear
They say that alcohol releases all of your inhibitions, that you would be able to do things that you
wouldn’t normally do when you are sober. If that’s the case, then the guy in this clip shouldn’t be
allowed to drink, ever.
A drunk man entered a bear enclosure at the Warsaw Zoo in Poland with the intension of provoking the
bear. The bear was a former circus bear, so he is used to being around people. It approached the drunk
man, who panicked and jump into the moat surrounding the enclosure.
The bear followed the man into the water and the two struggled to stay afloat. The bear would have
been fine swimming on its own, but the man can be seen clearly trying to drown the bear by pushing it’s
head underwater.
The man escaped and was later taken to the hospital to be treated for minor cuts. Right after the
incident, the bear could be seen sitting in the water growling nervously, until it’s keepers came in to look
after it. Honestly, I feel sorrier for the bear. The guy should be permanently banned form the zoo, drunk
or otherwise.
Number 8. A Fatal Tiger Attack
This disturbing, and originally graphic videos a man being mauled and dragged away by a white tiger
after the man jumped into the tiger’s enclosure in the National Zoological Park in India. The incident
happened when there were a lot of visitors in the, hence there were a lot of witnesses to the harrowing
event and also a lot of videos taken of the incident which quickly became viral.
It’s unclear whether the man, who was reported to have had a history of mental illness, jumped
intentionally into the enclosure, or accidentally fell in while trying to get a closer look at the tiger. One
thing is for certain though, this was one time when trying to distract the tiger from mauling the man did
more harm than good.
Onlookers and zoo employees pelted rocks at the animal, trying to dissuade it from attacking the young
man. This only irritated the animal who then picked up the young man and dragged him to a quieter
part of the enclosure away from onlookers.
It took a few hours for zoo employees to get to the poor man, but he had already succumbed to his
injuries.
Number 7. A Very Lucky Young Girl
Pandas are rarely seen as dangerous, and with good reason. It’s extremely rare to see pandas attack
humans. If these guys get into the news, it’s probably because one of them is pregnant or has just given
