10 places on Earth where gravity doesn’t seem to work

Gravity should be a very familiar concept to you now. If it isn’t, what rock are you living under?!
It’s a common belief that anything living near the surface of the Earth is attracted towards its
center. But there are certain exceptions. Imagine if you were told that there are places where
gravity doesn’t work? Well, check it out for yourself. Let us get into 10 places on Earth where
gravity doesn’t seem to work.

10) Santa Cruz mystery spot
The Santa Cruz mystery spot in California has been described as an unexplainable
mindboggling, natural phenomenon that cannot be described or explained. It is one of many
such gravitational anomalies that are located across the world. Similar “Mystery spots” are
found all over the world. This site has all the weird happenings that one would expect such as
cars and balls rolling uphill, people experiencing strange feelings of queasiness, and gravity
seeming to work odd tricks. The Santa Cruz mystery spot was discovered in 1939 and is
centered on a mystery shack that appears to be falling over and is being pulled down by the
strange gravitational forces. Speculation as to the cause includes: cones of metal secretly
buried in the ground by aliens, carbon dioxide permeating from the earth, a magma vortex and
in “scientific terms,” the highest dielectric bio-cosmic radiation known anywhere in the world.

9) The Uphill-Downhill Road of Ariccia
Just outside of Rome, one can take a break from the smog, and traffic of the big city among
them fresh air, beautiful surroundings, wonderful food and a road that seems to run in reverse.
Known as the anti-gravity hill, this curious spot is popular in Rome and even the Italian national
TV reported about it. As with other ‘anti-gravity hills’ It looks like a normal street in the woods
with a gentle slope, but if you pour water or put a ball on the pavement it seems to go uphill!
When one walks on the hill one “can clearly feel that going uphill is much easier than going
downhill.” This of course should be a dead giveaway that something is amiss. If a blind man
walked on this hill he would find it no stranger than any other hill, which in regards to gravity, it
isn’t.

6) Rua do Amendoim
This gorgeous residential street of Rua do Amendoim or Peanut Street as it is known to locals
will always have sufficient parking. This is because as soon as a car is stopped without the
emergency brake it will slowly begin to roll uphill, gaining speed as it goes. There are lots of
explanations drawn up, including that the hill is haunted or that a massive deposit of iron ore
lies beneath the street, drawing vehicles up to its magnetic pull. This is quite the celebrity
amongst streets as hundreds of people gather to record a bunch of videos and pictures
capturing the strange sight of cars making their own way uphill.

5) Gravity Hill
On a deserted stretch of road of Prosser, Washington, at the “base” of a small incline, you can
find Washington’s Gravity Hill. Finding it is no easy task but you’ll know for sure when you’ve
found it as a Good Samaritan was kind enough to paint a starting line.
