10 Remarkable Guinness Records
Since its inception in 1955, the Guinness World Records serves as the highlight reel of remarkable skill
by ordinary citizens. Here are just some of the most amazing world records ever set by people like you
and me. We’re going full meta on number one so make sure you stay tuned for that as we give you 10
remarkable Guinness records.

Number 10. The World’s Oldest DJ

As it turns out, the old adage of not being able to teach an old dog new tricks is completely not true, as
the first world record holder on our list would attest. At 83 years old, Japanese grandma Sumiko
Iwamura has been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest DJ.
Going by her stage name of DJ Sumirock, she can be regularly seen DJ-ing at Decabar Z, one of the
hottest party places in Shinjuku. Not to be confined only to Japan, she has also accepted gigs in other
countries such as Paris and New Zealand.
Sumirock's interest in DJ-ing sparked when a friend of hers suggested she should give it a go. Why the
two of them ended up having that conversation, we don’t know, but Sumiko, thinking it would be a fun
endeavor, she started attending a DJ school at the age of 77.
Sumirock's particular favourite is techno, and she mixes in rock, jazz and even some anime soundtracks.
However, the tracks she chooses can vary considerably depending on her mood.
If she isn’t spinning turntables, she can be seen waiting tables in the Chinese restaurant that she owns.

Number 9. Most Hula-Hoops Spun Simultaneously On Multi-Body Parts

on-multi-body-parts
Dunja Kuhn is a German born actress, cabaret/performance artist. She is also the current holder of one
of the most amazing Guinness World Records in my opinion; the most number of hula hoops spinning
simultaneously on different parts of her body. During the record attempt in August of 2020, she was
able to spin a total of 70 hula hoops on different parts of her body, including her neck and ankles. She
beat the previous world record of 59 which was also set by her. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find any
footage of her breaking the record, but hey, if Guinness says so, it’s a hundred percent legit.
Kuhn, who is also a professional “hula-hooper”, she once lived and worked in London for a few years
before relocating to Germany. Dunja first started acting at the "Stadttheater Trier" where she devised
and performed the piece "Rot sind die Gefuehle". In 2008 she joined the Battersea Arts Centre's "Young
people's theater" where she performed and devised play's for about two years.

Her current filmography includes the German feature film 'Rate your Date' by David Dietl and also
appeared in the 2016 'Stoner Express' by the Lennox Brothers and in Julien Jarrold's 2014 'A Royal Night
Out'.

Number 8. Fastest speed in a jet-powered go-kart
https://youtu.be/l6MFQgcIPLk
Go karts can go quite fast, but for Britain’s Tom Bagnell, they’re not quite fast enough. So what did Tom,
who has been always passionate about engineering, do? Strap rockets on to a go kart and go faster than
any one has been on a go kart of course.
With the help of his friend and fellow engineer Andy Morris, they built the rocket powered vehicle and
managed to zip around at 112.29 miles per hour, fast enough to land him a place in the record books.
The endeavor is far from safe – and even experts like Tom can find themselves apprehensive about
racing such a volatile vehicle.
Tom's obsession with engineering and speed started at a young age, when he found his mind wandering
in the classroom before discovering engineering as an outlet which stimulated his mind and creativity.
He is creating other “speedy” vehicles and I for one can’t wait to see any of those other machines in
action.

Number 7. Most Powdered Donuts Eaten in a 3 Minutes

All world records involving food have one thing in common; all of them are pretty much straightforward.
I mean, if you want to set the world record for eating the most number of chicken nuggets in three
minutes, all you have to do is to shove a nugget down your gullet one at a time, right?
