Everyone enjoys a stroll on the beach. Whether on vacation or just visiting the shore
near home, no trip to the beach is complete without combing the sands for seas
shells, coins, jewelry, or some other lost treasure. In some instances, the things we
find on the beach are so strange they defy even the wildest imagination. imagine,
stumbling upon a world war 2 fighter plane, or finding a duffel bag full of cocaine.
These and other surprises are coming up in this countdown.
Here is a list of the Top Ten Strangest Things Found on the Beach.
Number 10. Giant Eyes

In 2012, a giant eyeball washed up
on a Florida’s Pompano Beach. It was immediately thought to be a giant squid eye,
but later consideration has experts saying it is most likely the eye of a very big fish
due to suggestion of bones around the eye. One thing seems to be crystal clear,
whatever animal had this eye, they inhabited the deep seas. SO, how does a giant
eyeball wind up on a Florida Beach?
After some debate, a few theories have emerged. One group believe this to be the
eye of a large game fish, perhaps a swordfish or Tuna, which was thrown overboard
from a fishing vessel at sea, after dressing the catch. Others contend that it is most
likely the eye of a giant squid.

Number 9. Mermaid

Paul Jones posted a series of photographs taken on a Norfolk beach
in Great Yarmouth. The pictures appear to depict a creature with fins, a fish-like tail,
and a human-like head and torso. Many who have seen the image are completely sure
it is a mermaid carcass that has washed ashore.

"Today at Great Yarmouth we found what looks like a dead mermaid washed up
on the beach."

The area is also home to many Grey seals, and some local residents claim this is
nothing more than a Grey seal. Does it look like a seal to you? Or a mermaid, posing
for a final selfie?

Paul Jones’ Facebook profile may shed some light on the mystery. It seems that he is a
avid hobbyist with a talent for creating models, many of them fish-themed works of
art. Judging form the viral response to the photos he posted online

Number 8. Bricks of Cocaine
Imagine you are strolling down a Florida beach and happen upon a brick of cocaine!

In fact, more than a dozen bricks of cocaine washed up on Florida beaches in the
after math of Hurricane Dorian. A beach-goer at Paradise Beach alerted local police to
a strange package. Upon closer inspection officers recognized the unique package was
“wrapped in a way that was consistent with narcotics.”

“The brick was tested and was determined to be a kilo of cocaine,” a spokeswoman
said, adding that it will be destroyed.

At the same time, over in Cocoa Beach some 20 miles to the north, a duffel bag had
washed ashore with 15 bricks of cocaine inside. Each ‘brick’ of cocaine weighs 1 kg.

Number 7. Giant Lego Man

Dutch painter and sculptor, Ego Leonard, also known as “Ego L.” works prominently
feature over-sized Lego figures . Sometimes the name also is applied to sculptures,
apparently made by Leonard, which have been found on beaches at various locations
in the world since the late 2000s.
The sculptures are giant forms of the miniature Lego figures and have the message
"No Real Than You Are" in capital letters written across the front. The appearance of
an "Ego Leonard" giant figure on Siesta Beach , Florida, became number two on the
Time list of the "Top 10 Oddball-News Stories of 2011.” The giant figures have also
appeared at beaches in the UK and other locations around the world.

Number 6. 40-Ton barge

The ocean is enormous, mysterious, and full of power and might. Hurricanes and
other storms are known to wash all kinds of sea debris to shore. Imagine finding this
40-ton barge at the beach! Is it haunted with the ghosts of its crew? What happened
to it? Where did it come from? Seeing this rusted barge gives us pause to consider just
how vast the ocean is. How many more giant abandoned ships might be out there -
just waiting to make landfall? How many stories do they have to share?

Number 5. Giant Squid

Imagine taking a nice evening stroll on the beach and finding
this specimen! Capable of growing to lengths of more than 30
feet, the Giant Deep-sea Squid has been known to wash ashore
on the world’s beaches. Still, few things are stranger. From the
giant eyes to the incredibly strong tentacles, covered in toothy
suckers, to the alien-seeming bone crushing ‘beak’ at the
center of its arms, the Giant Squid is the stuff of nightmares.

On the beach, however, it is less a threat to our lives and more a threat to our
amazement and curiosity.
