In the amusem­ent park industry, the roller coaster is king, but during the hot summer months, these classic attractions get some tough competition from water slides. Water slides are some of the most fun a person can have, whether you’re a child or an adult. Some of the tallest and, therefore, the best water slides in the world can be found on the following list.

10. King Khajuna

King Khajuna is another Spanish water slide at PortAventura’s Aquatic Park. It’s 31 meters tall and features an extraordinary 55-degree slope. Those who descend the slide travel at a speed of 6 meters per second.

9. Xpirado

This is the third Brazilian slide to have made the list of tallest water slides. Xpirado is 32 meters tall and contains a helix, which drops into a slope to slide down.

8. Free Fall

This slide was recently opened in 2015 and is a dual free-fall body slide. It’s slightly smaller than the last one, standing at 32 meters tall and is a surprising 129 meters long! Portugal outdid itself with this water slide, which resides in Aquashow Park.

7. Huricana Slide

Now, who wouldn’t want to go down a slide with such a name? It’s located in France and was actually built by Poland. The slide has an amazing height of 33 meters and reaches speeds of 80 km.

6. Verti-Go

Along with the great name, this Spanish water slide has the amazing addition of utilizing a trap door at the beginning and it beats the record for being the highest freefall slide in Europe.

5. Summit Plummet

Summit Plummet is, well, a plummeting water slide that is 37 meters tall. Like Kiimanjaro, this is a freefall body like that everyone should try.

4. Deep Water Dive

This slide is the tallest body slide in North America and reaches a height of 37 meters. It can be found at the water park called Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay in Kentucky, USA.

3. Captain Spacemaker

Now, we move onto Italy. The water park which contains this slide is called Aqualandia. It’s 40 meters high and up to four people can use the rafting slide. It has a 60-degree slope that makes this the slide to try.

2. Insano

Like the name suggests, this water slide is insane. Once again, Brazil takes a trophy because this is currently the tallest freestanding body slide in the world. It’s 40 meters high and reaches speeds of 105 kmph.


1. Kilimanjaro

Brazil is home to many amenities that are renowned worldwide. Among these is the water slide, found in Aldeia das Aguas Park Resort, called Kilimanjaro. It’s a freefall slide that is 50 meters high and those who slide down it reach speeds of up to 90 kmph. Kilimanjaro has the highest drop for a water slide in the world.
