Description

Pain is a relative concept; some find a paper cut extremely painful while others don’t even flinch once. It’s all thanks to Justin O. Schmidt who let actual insects bite him so he could develop a scale of the pain level of each sting! It’s not just insects like the Executioner Wasp that deliver a deadly sting. Sometimes, it’s an animal that’s 95% water that can kill you! But only one creature can have the worst sting known to man. And for that, you’ll have to wait till number 1!

Here are the 10 Worst Animal Stings and What They Do to a human’s body!

Stonefish

You might expect a deadly sting to come from a tiny sharp insect, but you’d be surprised to see that the most venomous fish in the world has a lethal sting too! The stonefish is the master of camouflage; its skin is literally textured to look like a pile of rocks! Their venom is found in the dorsal fins and a sting from a fish like this requires immediate medical attention.

And the only way to cure a sting is by an antiserum. But if there’s no antiserum on hand, the sting can cause irregular heartbeat, temporary paralysis, complete collapse, pain spreading to the entire limb, and, well you get the point. These fish are only found in Australia, so if you’re Australian, keep an eye out for a weird rock, mate!

Box Jellyfish

The gelatinous creatures of the oceans look really pretty floating in the water, from a very far distance that is. With their long tentacles, it’s nearly impossible to swim by a box jellyfish! Their venom is among the most toxic in the world. People who have been bitten describe it to start off as a sharp and burning pain, only to have hives develop later.

It even hinders your ability to speak or even think. After just five minutes, the Symons start to set in. And what are the symptoms? They only get worse with muscle cramps, skin blistering, and even Irukandji syndrome. This syndrome causes an overload of stress hormones and inflammatory proteins that causes pain and nausea for days.
