2020 Best Hip-Hop LYRICS

The Brews and Reviews reaction and review of the best lyrics of the year. As bad as 2020 was, it was a very productive year for music and hip-hop in general. The artists on this list all displayed their lyrical abilities through the artform of rhymes and bars. These rappers helped us digest a crazy year by putting it down in words. The topics they touched on the most were social injustice, police brutality, and police murdering black people, becoming necessary voices to increase awareness for what has been going on for too long and culminated this year with the murder of George Floyd. In addition, artists on the list this year displayed great storytelling and/or revealed deeply personal emotions and created a little bit of philosophy as well. There were so many great rap lyrics this year it was difficult to narrow it down to just 10 and most artists on this list could have easily had more than one verse or song from this year in the top 10.
