3 drone flying areas in the Cleveland Metroparks

There are currently 3 areas within the Cleveland Metroparks where drone flying, including recreational and hobbyist, is allowed. These open field locations are in Mill Stream Run Reservation, Hinckley Reservation and South Chagrin Reservation.

1) Main Street Diamond - Mill Stream Run
You're looking for an unmarked parking lot east of the railroad tracks, between Eastland Road and Oxford Drive. Watch out for power lines. Get FAA approval to fly in this Class B airspace using your LAANC app.

2) Top O' Ledges - Hinckley Reservation
The picnic area parking lot is off of Bellus Road. There are spacious fields here. Make sure there is not an event scheduled during the time you want to fly. 3) Polo Field - South Chagrin Reservation
There is a good-sized field here but there are also likely to be walkers and joggers, not to mention horseback riders during a polo match. Be careful not to fly over people or horses. The Metroparks also allows drone flying at most of their golf courses from November 1st through March 15th when the courses are not open for golf. Be sure not to interfere with any cross country skiing, snowshoeing or any other activities.
