5 Daughters & A Funeral. They just cremated their father. He could not get an ambulance or doctor
Description
Reporting from Aligarh, Barkha Dutt brings you the story of five young girls who just cremated their father, a tea seller. Sanjay Gupta died from Tuberculosis. But with the health system burdened under the battle against Coronavirus, and a lockdown in place, he could get neither an ambulance nor a doctor in time. The local administration has provided the family a house to live in but Gupta was the only earning member of his family. In this report Barkha Dutt argues that there is an urgent need to separate COVID and Non-Covid medical facilities, else with hospitals becoming vulnerable to the virus and entire hospitals shutting down, there is a danger of increased mortality from diseases other than Coronavirus. 1300 people die in India from TB. As many die from Cancer.
