Welcome to the second hour of This Morning. In today’s headlines..

The government has designated eight types of establishments including karaokes, and indoor group sports facilities as high-risk businesses for the novel coronavirus and has advised the public to refrain from visiting them for two weeks starting at 6 PM tomorrow. The government is also launching a pilot e-visitors' log system at 19 multi-use facilities in 서울, 인천, and 대전 for a week from today, and all high-risk establishments will be mandated to keep an e-visitors’ log starting from June 10th.

The government will conduct quarantine inspections at 15 thousand construction sites and 23 thousand establishments of the manufacturing industry for the next two weeks today. The government plans to conduct thorough surveys at 43 hundred distribution centers to prevent cluster infections of COVID-19. This comes in the wake of the group infection at e-commerce giant 쿠팡’s distribution center in 부천, with at least 111 infections being confirmed in relation to that facility so far.

The world’s ten largest exporters all saw their exports drop in March due to the economic fallout of the global coronavirus pandemic, according to the World Trade Organization. South Korea, the world’s sixth largest exporter, saw its outbound shipments decrease 1.4% on year, which was the smallest drop among the top ten exporters. China, the world's largest exporter, saw its exports slip over 6% on-year, posting 185 billion dollars, while the US, the second biggest exporter, saw a 9 percent drop in exports on-year.

The 21st National Assembly has begun its four-year term but the main rival parties are clashing over the appointment of the heads of 18 parliamentary standing committees and when to open the parliament. The ruling Democratic Party is pushing to secure leadership of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee and Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, while the main opposition United Future Party says it needs to head these key committees in order to keep the 문재인 administration in check. The ruling party’s floor leader 김태년 also emphasized yesterday that opening the parliament on June 5th as stipulated in the National Assembly law is non-negotiable.

President Donald Trump's national security adviser Robert O’Brien said he doesn’t think systemic racism is an issue in U.S. law enforcement agencies, and that “there are some bad cops that need to be rooted out” but they are the minority, speaking to CNN on Sunday. President Trump has said his administration won’t invoke federal authority over the National Guard to respond to the massive protests across the US triggered by the murder of George Floyd, while announcing in a tweet that the US will designate Antifa, short for anti-fascists, as a terrorist organization.

Coming up next, how the coronavirus pandemic is impacting global inequality.
