So i have helped hundreds of people get their blog started and not just ranking online but making money from it as well. But there have been a lot of people that have tried and it did not work for them. The main trend that i see with people that fail with this is that they lack FOCUS. Focus is an acronym for Follow One Course Until Success. Meaning you should focus all of your efforts, early on, to learning the proper way to blog AND writing blogs as well. Nothing else should distract you from focusing on those objectives… learning and blogging… that is it.

In addition to going after low competition keywords, you need to also go after keywords that have commercial intent. Keywords with commercial intent are keyword that generally mean that the Searcher himself, is looking to buy something, versus just trying to find out more information about it. An example of this would be if i were to search for “what is a scented candle?” chances are I am looking for information as to what a scented candle is… What are some things that scented candle could be used for…. The likelihood of me wanting to buy a scented candle is pretty slim, because i am in “information” mode.

My next tip is to link out to other authority resources. When your site is brand-new, no one really knows that your site exist, Other than Google. so you have to start the long journey of gaining authority for your site. The more Authority your website has the more Google trust in you that your content can be valuable to people looking for information within your niche. to gain that Authority you need to give Google indications that the information you provide is correct, accurate, and trustworthy. And you can do so by linking out to other authority resources with proven the information validating what it is you are saying.

next , one of the worst mistakes that you can possibly make when it comes to your blog is to allow WordPress to create your url. In WordPress, the live editor will automatically create your url to whatever the title of your article happens to be. This is not ideal. especially when you are trying to rank for highly competitive keywords. so if your post happens to be titled, “top 10 best baseball glove for left-handed 10 year olds.” Your url should be simply, “best left-handed baseball gloves” or something similar. So whatever you do, make sure that you use the shortest version of your blog post as the slug in your URL, include your root keyword in your title, and think of something that is easy to remember. Doing these things drastically help your blog. In fact, Google has gone on record to say that they prefer shorter URL structures.

now , A really cool stat that a lot of people do not even realize is that your blog articles will get 94% more views if you include images, video, or some sort of multimedia.

Our next step is to write longer content. Studies have shown that long-form content generates nine times as more leads than short-form blog post. this is because long form content tends to be more educational and in-depth, providing more value to the reader. If you deliver value to the reader consistently, this will help you to build trust. Of course, writing a long post with useful content also requires more time and more effort from you.
