This edition of A Funko POP!cast is the first podcast of 2021. This is the highly anticipated Top 50 Funko Pops Of 2020 in which you are probably asking us. Why Top 50? Why not Top 10 Pops Of 2020? There were so many great pops of 2020 that rounding down to 10 would've been hard to decide, believe it or not. We thought Top 25 when we first did this, but we said, lets go big or go home, and decided to go to a Top 50 list since that has rarely been done. How did we determine each spot you asked? We rated all 50 pops by three categories. Overall Hype, Detail, and Personal Reaction. Overall Hype is all the comments throughout Funko's social media platforms, and reviews on websites if they were exclusives (Amazon, Hot Topic, Walmart, etc). We looked back and marked off every bad comment to do some math to determine the percent of good hype. Here is an example of how it's done.

1. 1000 total comments - 50 bad comments/hype = 950 good comments/hype

2. 950 good comments divided by 1000 total comments = 0.95 (95.0% or as we would say, 9.5 in Overall Hype)


Both Detail and Personal Reaction were rated individually by both Co-Hosts DK Wrestler, and MD Shaddy. Both ratings for each of the categories were added up, and divided by 2 (since two is the number of hosts involved) to get a median number for both overall Detail and Personal Reaction ratings. Here is an example of how it would be done.

1. 7.0 + 8.0 = 15

2. 15 divided by 2 = 7.5


Lastly, once all three categories have their rating, they get added up and divided by 3 (since there were three categories) to get an Overall Score. The Overall Score is how every pop gets placed by each number from 50, all the way to 1. Here is an example of how it would be done.

1. 9.5 + 8.0 + 7.5 = 25

2. 25 divided by 3 = 8.333333333 (8.33 would be the Overall Score).
