A MODELED TEACHER | Bianca Golden | TEDxQueensVillage
Description
Talk:
Bianca takes us on a journey to question our way of thinking. Can you have it all and still have nothing? Is it too late to start over? Is your dream the reality you want to change? If you’ve ever had these questions, Bianca might be the person you need to hear from.
About:
Bianca Golden was a cast member of America’s Next Top Model; in her competing season, she placed fourth and later came back for the all-star cast in 2011. She has modeled on Project Runway, appeared on BET’s Rip the Runway, interviewed several celebrities, and was featured in Essence to list a few of her accomplishments. While these are all outstanding achievements, her proudest was becoming an ELA teacher. “I’m an unconventional teacher, with an unconventional journey into the Education profession.” Even with her frantic schedule during her modeling career, she completed her undergraduate degree and soon after attained her master’s. Bianca is passionate and takes her title as an educator very seriously. She uses her own experiences as a building block to connect with her students about self-love as black and brown people maneuvering the world daily. She optimistically looks forward to the success of all her students walking in their purpose.
