Description

Welcome to our Service of the Word for the Fourth Sunday of Easter - the latest of our video-based worship services, produced by the Anglican Communion Office during the global Covid-19 lockdown.

The service is led by the Revd Dr William Adam, the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Ecumenical Adviser and Director for Unity, Faith and Order for the Anglican Communion. The Preacher was the Most Revd Thabo Makgoba, Archbishop of Cape Town, Primate of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.

The Revd Canon Faiz Jerjees, Chaplain at St George's Anglican Episcopal Church in Baghdad, Iraq, reads Acts 2: 42-end in Arabic. Amelia Bjelland Brown, Assistant Director of Laurentian Engagement, St Lawrence University, in Potsdam, New York, reads John 10: 1-10.

The Psalm for the day, Psalm 23, is sung by The Smith Ensemble.

The hymns and songs were recorded before the Covid-19 pandemic, and come from the installation of Archbishop Melter Tais as Primate of the Church of the Province of South East Asia, earlier this year at All Saints Cathedral in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah; and a Eucharist at the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, marking a pastoral visit last year by the Archbishop of Canterbury to the Anglican Church of Ceylon.
