ABT Studio Company Winter Festival: Act II
Description
After spending seven months apart due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the young dancers of ABT Studio Company gathered in fall 2020 for a “ballet bubble” with stringent Covid-19 safety protocols in place. Following fourteen days of quarantine, the dancers, staff, and choreographers spent five weeks rehearsing nine ballets at Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam, CT and Kaatsbaan Cultural Park in Tivoli, NY. Filmed at Kaatsbaan, the ABT Studio Company Winter Festival celebrates ABT Studio Company’s commitment to cultivating both innovative new choreography and a promising new generation of dancers.
ACT II of the Festival features a tribute to dancers' daily ballet class; a suite celebrating the iconic choreography of LE CORSAIRE; a stirring ballet choreographed by Brendan Saye; and the world premiere of Hope Boykin’s FOR WHAT IS IT ALL WORTH?, which was created during the fall 2020 ballet bubble.
If you’d like to see more of the works filmed during the ballet bubble, including a world premiere by Lauren Lovette and recent commission by Amy Hall Garner, be sure to check out Act I of the Festival!
