Today, only 1 in 9,821 chance of dying in an aircraft accident, making it very rare to be involved in an aviation-related disaster, making flying the safest way to travel. In 2017, it was the safest year in aviation in terms of low number of fatalities, with only 44 deaths reported from fatal commercial flight disasters. But sometimes when assumptions replace facts, danger will replace safety.
