Frigid temperatures, dark winter days, a breathtakingly high cost of living: who would ever want to live in a place like that? As it turns out, the happiest people on planet Earth. Finland conquered United Nations World Happiness Report's top spot for the third year in a row, not because there is something in this nation's icy waters of just 5.5 million people. Finland is not the richest either among the 156 countries surveyed by Gallup World Poll: more than one dozen other countries beat its GDP per capita.

The World Happiness Report is an annual survey by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network for the United Nations. It looks at the state of global happiness in 156 countries, ranking countries using the Gallup World Poll and six factors: levels of GDP, life expectancy, generosity, social support, freedom and corruption income. The World Happiness Report 2020 was originally launched in 2012.

Finland is the top country by score among 156 countries. As of 2019, the Finland score was 7.81 scale, which accounts for 0.95% of the total score. Most amazing top 10 countries (others are Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Netherland, Sweden, New Zealand, Austria and Luxembourg) account for 4.60%. The total score was estimated at 825.54 rating scales 0-10 (Sadness to Happiness) in 2019.
