Arcane BREAKS Netflix Records, Best Video Game Series EVER?

The new League of Legends animated series “Arcane” has been dominating on Netflix, rising to the top 10 most streamed list on the platform, and racking up nearly perfect reviews on Rotten Tomatoes

With possibly the best reviews ever for a TV Series based on a video game property, Arcane has risen to the #6 slot on Netflix Top 10 list for TV shows, and keeps on rising. The series features major characters from the League of Legends, with Champions like Jinx, Vi, Jayce, Ryze, and many more appearing in just the first 3 episodes of the Netflix series.

Riot has also tied in a major in-game event to the release, allowing players to win cosmetics and in-game items based on Arcane to help promote the series even further. And given that League of Legends player base is massive, with millions of active players, you have to imagine that has helped Arcane become such a huge hit on Netflix.

Now that Riot has shown how to make a successful crossover from an esports title to a mainstream tv show success, will more of our favorite esports titles be headed to Netflix? A show based around the agents in Valorant, or a gritty war drama centered around the Call of Duty Universe? Time will tell...but Arcane has certainly opened the door for future video game titles to succeed.
