Ballon d’Or winner leaked as rankings surface ahead of Messi vs Van Dijk battle

A leaked version of the Ballon d’Or results has surfaced on social media ahead of Monday’s ceremony. A tweet shows a picture of the supposed top ten, though it is by no means guaranteed that this is the result. Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk are expected to be the top two.

And the leaked result suggests Messi gets his hands on his sixth Ballon d’Or crown, pipping the Liverpool star.

The results show Messi on 446 points with Van Dijk on 382. The Dutchman’s Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah is third.
