Amazing drone footage shows Barcelona, one of the world’s leading tourist centres, empty amid Spain’s coronavirus lockdown.

Spain has Europe's highest number of confirmed cases, with 157,022 infections and 15,843 deaths, registered as of Friday.

The country has been under lockdown for almost a month, and it is close to passing the worst of its coronavirus outbreak, according to Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

Spain has put in place some of the toughest measures in Europe to combat the COVID-19 outbreak which has seen a reduction in the proportional daily increase in new infections to 4% from 22%.
