Boxing Federation Of India (BFI) Failed to pay the host fee of World Bpxing championship on time. AIBA decided to cancle the contract and announced Belgrad as new host. BFI, led by spicejet owner Ajay Singh, is blaming the AIBA. 'AIBA account in Lausanne was frozen. The account of AIBA in Switzerland as mentioned in Host City Agreement is still inoperative. AIBA intended to have some previous payments through an account in Serbia. As Serbia is in the Grey List of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) countries, Indian Banks do not normally send money to Serbia. AIBA could not resolve these issues.The account of AIBA in Switzerland, as mentioned in Host City Agreement, is still inoperative.' said the BFI. Recently Indian Olympic Association (AIO) missed the deadline to submit the bid for 2030 Asian games. Now Saudi Arab and Qatar are the only two contries fighting for the hosting rights of Asian Games 2020. In his defence IOA President Narinder Batra said, 'I wish the two countries the best. We could not complete the formalities after the virus outbreak. We will now aim to bid for the 2034 edition.'
