Billboard Top 100 Songs of 2020 Year End (so far)
Description
Thirty weeks into 2020, this is the in-progress Year End Billboard Hot 100.
As accurate as I anticipate that this list is, it is ultimately an approximation using data from weekly chart positions and a point system based on randomly generated point distributions using statistical variables. Likewise, each chart position is derived from the statistical mean of 1000 iterations of the song's sample points.
In reality, because these iterations are normally distributed, there is a chance that certain songs are actually higher on the list than they appear (Heartless and Bop have a ~50% of being in opposite positions, e.g.).
If you're wondering why so many seemingly small songs are currently charting, this year has seen a large number of album bombs with short-lived Top 40 (even Top 10) songs. This puts essentially all of the Christmas songs on the list, but they'll fall off.
A lot of this list will fall off; a lot of the songs here will go way up. Supalonely is definitely going to be higher than 100, for example. Furthermore, there are still a ton of songs that will rise but are currently bubbling in the 101-200 range (Party Girl, Be Kind, etc.). Many songs also haven't charted yet; it's only 30 weeks in!
There are hundreds of insights I could draw from the data; leave your comments if interested. I'm stuck inside so I'll answer lol
