      Description

BTS, 영미권 차트 석권...'20세기엔 비틀스, 21세기엔 방탄소년단'

BTS is dominating the album charts at the international stage.
'Map of the Soul : 7,' reached number one on both the U.S. Billboard 200 and the UK's Official Albums Chart 100.
Kan Hyeong-woo turns the spotlight to the K-pop band's latest accomplishments.
BTS are back on top again.
With their new album 'Map of the Soul: 7' released about 10 days ago,...the K-pop band has landed straight on the number 1 spots on the U.S. Billboard 200 and the UK Official Albums Chart 100.
"We've talked about our personal stories in music, and we are trying to show that in our dances. But I think we're in a time now when, ironically, the most personal stories can be the most global."
According to the U.S. Billboard, BTS' album racked up 2020's largest weekly sales so far.
'Map of the Soul: 7' becomes BTS' fourth number one album in the U.S in just a little over a year and nine months...after their first release 'Love Yourself: Tear' in June 2018.
The last band to land four number ones faster than BTS was The Beatles, who took a year and five months to achieve the same feat between July 1966 and January 1968.
On the UK Official Chart,...'Map of the Soul: 7' is the fastest-selling album of the year up to date.
The boyband also become the first Korean artists to score two number ones on the British album chart.
Meanwhile,... fans of BTS - also known as the 'Army' - have shown their love to those suffering from the coronavirus outbreak in South Korea.
According to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association on Sunday,...it has received about 320-thousand U.S. dollars under the names of 'BTS' and 'Army'.
BTS member Suga chipped in more than 80-thousand dollars himself.
Some fans have also donated their ticket refunds to COVID-19 relief efforts...after BTS were forced to canceled their Seoul concerts scheduled for April due to safety concerns.
