Description

With so many thousands of films to choose from, even the idea of doing a Top Ten is patently ludicrous. So here’s ours! A list of the Top Ten lost films of interest to us and hopefully to the Dark Corners audience.

10- Lost Chaney: The lost films of the iconic man of a thousand faces.
9- Forgotten Films: When nothing survives how does anyone remember.
8- Lost in the 30s: Not just silent films are lost, and not all films are lost because of unexpected vault fires. We turn East to uncover a couple of films lost during the fire bombing of Japan.
7- The Man You Love to Hate: Erich Von Stroheim struggled to keep his vision on screen, and in the case of this film in existence.
6- Before They Were Famous: The early work of many stars and directors is lost, but when it comes to Big Name Directors, there is only one.
5- The Lost Pioneer: A new age of horror was ushered in by the German expressionist movement, but the work one pioneer Stelen Rye is almost entirely lost.
4- Queen of the Vamps: In the 30s Vamps were seductive women, luring poor weak-willed men away from their marriages, and we take a look at the lost films of the undisputed Queen of the Vamps
3- From Page to Screen: Since the start of cinema, filmmakers have turned to novels to find stories to put on screen, here are some of those lost adaptations.
2- Lost Monsters: At Dark Corners we love the classic monsters from Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Wolfman and of course Dracula. All have films we love and many that have been lost.
1- The Lost Masterpiece: F.W. Murnau classic Nosferatu was close to ending up on this list, lucky despite orders for the prints to be burned a copy survived, unfortunately not all of Murnau's films were as lucky.
