Back in 2017, the story of Charlie Gard captured all of our hearts. 11-month-old Charlie was tragically born with a rare progressive mitochondrial disease. When British doctors said nothing more could be done, his parents Connie and Chris led a long fundraising and legal campaign to take him for experimental treatment in the US. The long legal battle divided the world, but ultimately Charlie was taken off life support and died in July 2017. Now, three years on, his parents join us with some happy news - they’re expecting a baby! They will be telling us about crying tears of joy as they prepare to start a family together, and how Charlie’s legacy has continued to save lives.
