China Reports Suspected Cases Of Bubonic Plague That Can Kill An Adult In Less Than 24 Hours

A suspected case of bubonic plague was reported from a city in northern China. A level III warning of plague prevention and control was given in Bayannur, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The local health authority said that there is a risk of a human plague epidemic spreading in the city. Two brothers of the age 27 & 17 have been confirmed to be infected from bubonic plague. The brothers ate marmot meat and the health officials have warned people to not eat marmot meat.
