Amid the growing chorus for cancellation of CBSE Board Examinations due to the record spike in Covid-19 cases in India, the govt has decided to postpone the CBSE Class 12 board exams and cancel the Class 10 exams.

The decision was taken in the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank', Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Cabinet Secretary, School and Higher Education Secretaries and other top officials were present.

The Union Education Minister informed after the meeting that the Board Exams for Class 12 to be held from May 4 to June 14, 2021 have been postponed. The situation will be reviewed on 1 June 2021 by the Board, and details will be shared subsequently. A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations.

He added, the Board Exams for Class 10 to be held from 4 May to June 14, 2021 have been cancelled. The results of Class 10 Board will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams.

CBSE 10th Board Exam 2021 Cancelled & CBSE 12th Board Exams 2021 Postponed: After a high-level meeting between PM Narendra Modi, the Education Minister & top officials today (14 April 2021, at Noon), the following decisions have been taken:

- CBSE Class 10th Board Exams 2021 are cancelled.

- CBSE Class 12th Board Exams 2021 have been postponed.

CBSE 10th Result 2021 will be declared on the basis of criteria set by the board.

CBSE Board Exams 2021 Cancelled for Class 10, Postponed for Class 12: Live Updates

CBSE 10th 12th Board Exams 2021 Live Updates can be checked from here. Several leaders and states have asked for the postponement of the board exams. The Education Ministry and CBSE board have decided to cancel class 10 exam and postpone class 12 exam.

Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE 10th 12th Board Exams 2021 are scheduled to begin across the country from May 4, 2021. As per the schedule released by the board, the exam will be conducted in two shifts in various exam centres. However, with increasing COVID-19 cases in the country, many are hoping for CBSE board exams to be postponed or cancelled. 

Delhi Education Minister said, "I am happy that Class X exams have been cancelled, although for Class XII, it has only been postponed. I appeal to the Central govt to promote Class XII students on the basis of internal assessment & remove their anxiety."

The results of Class 10 Board exam 2021 will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams. The board will soon release the marking scheme for CBSE Class 10 Board Exams 2021.

Though CBSE class 12 board exams 2021 have been postponed till June, the situation will be reviewed on 1st June 2021 by the Board, and details will be shared subsequently. A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations.
