Collins Wide-area Display Brings F-35 Tech to More Aircraft – AIN

At the recent Dubai Airshow, Collins Aerospace launched a new wide-area touchscreen flight deck display. The MFD-4820 monolithic 8- x 20-inch LED-backlit display is driven by two computers so that if one side fails, the other will keep working. The screen is compatible with night-vision goggles and remains visible in strong sunlight. It can also be used with or without flight gloves.
