Coronavirus in India: The Haryana government has doubled the salaries of medical staff including doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and helpers deployed in isolation wards for coronavirus patients. They will receive this salary as long as the COVID-19 crisis continues.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced the move on April 9 as a gesture saluting their spirit of sacrifice during ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, while addressing the medical fraternity during a video conference. Apart from this, families of police officials will receive compensation drawn from a COVID-19 relief fund set up by the state if they catch the virus while on duty, and the infection turns out to be fatal.
