Cosmetics retailer Sasa to close all 22 stores in Singapore, 170 employees affected

Hong Kong-based cosmetics retailer Sasa is closing all 22 of its stores in Singapore, after posting losses here for six straight years. Sasa said about 170 staff will be affected, and they will be compensated according to "local employment laws and regulations". It will now redirect its resources to its core markets of Hong Kong, Macau, China and Malaysia, as well as its e-commerce business. Sasa operates 265 stores in the Asia Pacific,
and employs around 4,500 staff.
