Public and staff will temporarily be limited from access to the Union Buildings following the confirmation of a positive case of COVID-19 among the staff members. The Presidency says steps have been taken to secure treatment for the staff member and to provide support to their family. South Africa now has over 7500 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus and 10 more deaths, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize announced there were 352 new infections, taking the total cases to 7572, while the death toll had risen to 148. Professor Salim Abdool Karim, Chairperson of the Ministerial Advisory Committee.
