Covid update: ‘98% protection after 2 doses’; 10 European Nations recognise Covishield

From Tamil Nadu extending lockdown in the state to the Centre allowing vaccination for pregnant women, here are the top updates on coronavirus. Tamil Nadu government on Friday extended lockdown in the state by a week, till July 12. The state government allowed restaurants to serve customers at 50% capacity. The government also allowed amusement parks to open with 50% capacity. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare allowed vaccination for pregnant women. The Ministry, after NTAGI’s recommendations, asked pregnant women to register on CoWin portal. Also, ten European countries have now recognized Covishield for proof of vaccination for travel.
