Josh Sigurdson talks with author and economic analyst John Sneisen about the latest news out of Deutsche Bank as the collapsing bank cuts 100 million Euros from its domestic retail banking unit as restructuring continues.
This cut is an attempt to avoid cutting any more jobs in the next year as Deutsche has cut tens of thousands of jobs in the past year alone and has been in a tail spin for more than ten years.
The derivatives exposure at Deutsche Bank still hovers around 43 trillion dollars with the German GDP sitting at around 3.5 trillion dollars.
This latest move is yet another example of Deutsche Bank desperately attempting to avoid its complete inevitable collapse. It's absolutely astonishing that the bank is still standing after years of crumbling at its foundation.
We've been reporting on Deutsche Bank since the beginning of 2016 when its derivatives exposure hit 75 trillion. With the restructuring, there's little to no evidence that it will recover any time soon. It was downgraded by the S&P as well as forced to redo its living will test for the Federal Reserve.
