DU teachers strike over ad-hoc appointments, set 10-hour deadline for VC

Teachers of the Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) have begun an indefinite strike to protest the Principal Association’s (DUPA) decision to not renew the appointments of ad hoc teachers. They protested outside the vice-chancellor’s office today to demand the roll back of the circular that seeks to oust 4,500 teachers from their jobs. It has given a 10-hour deadline to the VC to resolve the issue.
