This major nonconformity on our list comes from ISO 9001. Here it is again important to make sure we are complying with the requirements from this standard. Frankly speaking this point from ISO standard is very general. The requirements refer to the manufacturing processes so here we may find requirements for the environment, infrastructure, competency of the people, validation etc.

This consolidated requirements in this point of ISO 9001 can be also found in other clauses of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 separately. But if during the audit auditor will notice few times not fulfilling some requirements this ISO 9001 point is a good practice possibility to create one major nonconformity. And this can be a reason we are considering this nonconformity among top 10 major nonconformities in 2021.

Is ISO 9001 requirements can be “low hanging fruit” during the audits and they are very aligned with categories of non-conformities. The multiple problems in a manufacturing process can be consolidated by the auditors to rise one major nonconformity as they could cause a breakdown of the manufacturing system and lack of efficiency and effectiveness.
