Europe thanks Taiwan for donation of seven million surgical masks

Numerous European politicians have shared videos online thanking Taiwan for the masks, and expressing support for Taiwan to be properly included in international initiatives.A shipment of 7 million Taiwanese masks arrived in Frankfurt on a China Airlines flight, from where they’ll be delivered all across Europe. The boxes, emblazoned with “Taiwan Can Help,” were shown here in a report on regional German TV.Local media interviewed Taiwan’s representative in Germany, Hsieh Chih-wei. In a Facebook post, he quoted a German elected official who attended the mask reception: “Taiwan is small but great, solitary but independent, and has astonished the world with its response to COVID-19.” The officials expressed gratitude for the donation, and a wish for the WHO and the world to include Taiwan in global initiatives. “Taiwan needs the world, and the world needs Taiwan,” he reportedly said. Hsieh wrote, “I was tearing up.
