The European Commision is reacting to yesterday’s ruling by Poland’s highest court that EU law cannot supersede Poland’s constitution and that some EU treaties are incompatible with it. This ruling seems to have sparked panic among some EU bureaucrats.
The European Commission will do all in its power to ensure the primacy of EU law, its president Ursula von der Leyen said on Friday (October 8) after a ruling by Poland's highest court left her "deeply concerned".
