Nancy has made a third video tutorial to make face masks--this time for Kids! Use some cute kids' fabrics that you think your kids will like to wear. Fabric that is a 100% cotton is the best type to use.
Nancy will walk through how to make the three pleat mask in the kid's size. These masks can be made like the adult ones with an opening for a filter and a nose piece. She did not make her example with the opening for a filter or nose piece. She is hoping by making the kid's mask comfortable without the filter and nose piece, the child may just keep the mask on longer.
The kid's mask is a great option to keep kids from touching their faces. It is not necessarily to keep the coronavirus out but to keep it from spreading by getting into the eyes, nose or mouth as kids are quick to touch those areas just like adults. Hopefully a kid's mask made of fabric they love will also help it stay on the face a little longer.
Nancy uses a 36 inch shoelace and threads it through the bottom of the mask out to the top. The mask can easily slip over a child's head and then tied behind the head.
