Wildwoodians, we are proud to introduce the latest in our series of hypothetical Wildwood 10 Teles. Think of them as historical fiction, or bold guitars with the courage to say "what if?" For instance, what if Fender had made a Telecaster Custom with a PAF-style pickup in the neck position and a gorgeous AAA flamed maple top?

We asked the skilled artisans at the Fender Custom Shop, and they answered with this compelling Wildwood 10. These guitar has a laundry list of delightful features, chief among which is the aforementioned eye-catching flamed maple top. The chocolate 3-tone sunburst finish highlights the flame nicely, and it presents a nice contrast with the natural roasted ash back and sides, which have a lovely warm color. The neck also sports an AAA flame to match the top, and the Custom Shop wizards roasted it as well to match the back.

But, the roasted woods aren't for show. When you roast a piece of wood, it sucks out all the moisture and makes it less susceptible to changes in humidity. It also imparts a bit of woody, focused, vintage-style resonance.

Speaking of resonance, the pickups sitting upon that glorious maple top sure sound sweet! The bridge pickup is a hand-wound Twisted Tele, which has plenty of bite, snap, jangle, sparkle, and twang. The neck pickup is a Seymour Duncan '59, a PAF-inspired humbucker with warm, rich low-end, muscular midrange, and sweet, singing highs. With these two tones, you can cover just about all the bases you'll need to at the gig, jam, or session.

We're proud to showcase such an exciting, inspiring guitar for our exceptional customers. We're sure its bold styling, sweet sounds, and supreme playability will inspire some lucky Fender fanatic for years to come.
