Mitte Januar ging ein kleiner Schock durch die dank des Model 3 wachsende Szene der deutschen Tesla-Fahrer. Anders als die Premium-Modelle Model S und Model X kann das Model 3 nicht kostenlos am Supercharger-Netz von Tesla laden, weshalb ein Einführungsangebot von Ionity gerade recht kam: Bis vor kurzem kostete beliebig viel Laden dort günstige 8 Euro – und ging sogar schneller als bei Tesla. Dann aber kündigte Ionity an, dass der Preis pro Kilowattstunde ab Februar 79 Cent pro Kilowattstunde beträgt, also viel mehr als vorher und mehr als an den Tesla-Stationen.
